SHAKILA HAIDER

This image depicts the identity issue of women belonging to a tribal setup, where morality and modesty of women is connected with her hidden face and her silenced voices. The images of the Hazara women who dared to put their picture on social media had broken the stereotype of social norms. They dared to place their pictures on internet without concealing their identity while they faced the harsh reaction of society. The black and white images show the social mindset of a society that only sees women as black or white, and their otherwise colorful life is a threat to thousands of years of cultural norms. The red thread on the face shows the link of one woman with another as a source of power and the red thread underneath are the chains with which women are bound.
